We’ve just arrived in Rimini, the town where Fellini was born. After finding the street where Harry Lime gets “killed” in Vienna, and now being able to wander around Amarcord in real life, I’m thinking that doing a film location tour of europe would be absolutely kick-ass-town. A guy we met on the train coming from Vienna told me about a tour group that sets up shop in Vienna during the tourist season and they take you to all the locations that The Third Man was filmed in. They even let you go down into the sewers and relive the final chase sequence.
We’re going to the beach soon enough but first we have to find swimming suits (or costumes as the brits would say). Then tomorrow, I’m going off in search of the school, the resort, the square, and the tobbaco shop where Amarcord takes place.
