So you may or may not know that I’m in Venice. And you may or may not know that we’ll be here for a day or so partly as an april fools joke to drop in on our flatmate ned who’s here on a romantic getaway with his girlfriend hannah (she’s in on it). But we’ll soon leave for Rimini (the town where Fellini was born!!!) and then partways. I’ll continue south until I reach Sicily and make my way toward chefalu where I’ll meet a relative of mine who’s about the same age as my grandfather and stay with either him or his caretaker or maybe they all live together. Not sure at this point. Then I’m going to go to the town hall and find myself the birth certificates of my greatgrandparents. Then my father will have italian citizenship and hopefully mine will follow. Then I could do whatever I want! No, but seriously, I am going to do this and it will be interesting and new.
I’m undecided as to how I feel about everything on this trip so far though.
