Radio Radio
I’m in a class this semester wherein on wednesday mornings from 9-12 MST I (and my classmates) are on the radio. By which I mean the internet. You can find the stream at www.neighborhoodpublicradio.org if you want to tune in! Please right click on the Listen In link and download the file. It is a .pls (playlist) file that can be (probably) played through your favorite audio player....

My favorites are the Jurassic Park, Shining, and Blade Runner.
OH LORD I AM NOT GOOD AT UPDATES.
Surprise! I really suck at this, that’s okay though. Um… yes. Anyway, here’s a poem about what I’ve been up to:
days are long and the light is sparse.
the warmth, she dies in my soul.
but I make a picture.

On my way!
Hullo, i’m off to Portland Oregon today with my parents. This is the big city on my list that I’m the most excited for. Sure Chicago is awesome and what not, but I’m most excited for Portland. My parents have been five times to the pacific northwest and always come back and tell me that I’d love it. So here goes i guess.

i am making a book of poems.
it will go by the name first one to a thousand wins. I will use the awesome internet to order copies of it. they will be five dollars apiece and i will give to my friends as quite belated christmas gifts. each poem will be simultaneously awesome and exaggeratedly precocious. I will post rough drafts of them here and you can tell me what you think should change!
Best use for a tumblr, yes.
Well that was fruitless
I’ve decided to stop having this update from my google reader feed because it doesn’t really seem to serve a point. Anyone who’s interested in that feed can either follow me on reader (comment/email me to get that going) or just visit my reader page by searching my name on google and looking at my google profile page. I’m still struggling to find a place for tumblr in my...

Back in business
Well I had forgotten about this page for a bit but i’ve remembered how neat it is. I’m going to try and keep updating for a bit. But we’ll see what happens.
It’s been a long time since i sat down to write anything that wasn’t required for school. That’s been kind of tough. I’ve had a really all over the place semester, and i really need to get on myself...

Leavin' on a Jet Plane
Well folks, my time in Norwich is come to an end. I’ll be leaving shortly, don’t know when I’ll be back. In a few hours, Paris. In a few days, Marrakech. In a few weekish (10 days) I’ll be back in Santa Fe.
time running out
I’m running out of time and there are people playing a game of softball or some other british equilivent outside my window. I need to come up with a way to take my things back home with me, and I’m afraid that I’m going to have to shell out TONS of money just to ship things back home. The other option is to give away more than half of my clothes and then just take things back...

Please listen to this song and try and tell me that this band isn’t one of the greatest bands in the past 20 years. The Woods is a modern masterpiece, and it has/will take some time to get used to the idea of a world without them.
HOLY SHIT. You need to watch this video for Justice’s track Stress. It’s incredible. The page I found it on appropriately describes it as “ballsy and shamelessly rough.” Jesus christ, I’ve not seen anything like this.

My flatmate laura was kind enough to send me this awesome website. It’s one of those new fangled internet radio stations that hides a hideous marketing tool (don’t they all though?). I’m sitting here on a friday morning at 2.25 listening to autechre after having rode my bike (rowan’s bike) to see iron man in town and I’ve passively realized just how much of my music...

Video #87.2 - YEASAYER - 2080 - Blogotheque, Yeasayer, Paris, Concert, Moon - Dailymotion Share Your Videos This one of my favorite bands of the year. Who can argue with a song about not being alive in 2080 and being allowed to marry the guys daughters?

This is more for courtney than anyone else, but seriously watch these videos. Editor Derrick Lee put these 5 music videos together for Kanye West using footage from 2046 (from probably the most talented visual filmmaker today Wong Kar Wai), Tron, 2001, Oldboy and Akira. Definitely jump on these. On another note, I’m back in Norwich and went to see Low last night and was approprately blow...

Santana.
I think I just had one of my favorite moments of this trip. Driving down a very VERY tiny sicilian road in godknows where with a guy who’s distantly related to me by 2 marriages and doesn’t speak a word of english, listening to abraxas. Music transcends all no?
Cefalù
I’m in Cefalù now. The land of my ancestors. As my dad told me today, “your like salmon returning to the stream you were spawned in.” Yes? I’m off to wander around and them meet my relative who’s here, who doesn’t speak english. Cefalù is very beautiful. The women are stunning all over italy and even in Sicily. The Sicilians look like me where mainland...
Rimini
We’ve just arrived in Rimini, the town where Fellini was born. After finding the street where Harry Lime gets “killed” in Vienna, and now being able to wander around Amarcord in real life, I’m thinking that doing a film location tour of europe would be absolutely kick-ass-town. A guy we met on the train coming from Vienna told me about a tour group that sets up shop in...

Venice
So you may or may not know that I’m in Venice. And you may or may not know that we’ll be here for a day or so partly as an april fools joke to drop in on our flatmate ned who’s here on a romantic getaway with his girlfriend hannah (she’s in on it). But we’ll soon leave for Rimini (the town where Fellini was born!!!) and then partways. I’ll continue south...

how goes it homies? Im at a hostel in budapest right now and Im hopelessly tired. Also, the keyboard I am using has no apostrophe. Or I am too lazy to find it. there are a lot of characters with weird accents on them. I think i can handle it though. Prague was fan-n-n-n-n-n-tastic. except that everytime I turned around there was another american. I am not kidding. There seem to be...
Gypsical wandering
GOOD EVENING morning. I’m tired. And it’s 7.30. And I’m about to go pick up two of my flatmates from a bus station. How you travel to Paris from London, I’ve no idea. But, there you are. And so I go. To Munich. For now. c-c-c-c-he-e-e-e-e-ck it out-t-t-t-t.
New Frontiers of Techno-Isolation
karinalongworth: I’ve decided that The Saddest Thing in the World is when you go two, three, four days on end without talking to another human being––because at this point, the girl at the coffee shop across the street knows what you order and you know what it costs, and other than that, all of your communication happens with the fingers and the typing––and then, when you finally do get in the...

This is absolutely amazing! I would love to see this live. It’s a performance integrating animation, experimental theatre, pop music, and puppetry. You’ve got to check this out!
This was broadcast in October of 2001. It reflects the tension and absolute balls to the wall craziness that accompanied so much in New York (and by extension the U.S.). We had no idea what was going on. The Anthrax scare had just erupted and we were held in a vice grip of fear. And to think, this shock was what turned us to ol’ Georgie.

tumblr justification?
me: did you get in on the www.thiswilldo.tumblr.com action?
not me: not yet... will look over it tonight
me: it's like an internet scrapbook
so it's full of shit that's totally uninteresting
it like a random analysis of content on the internet and user created shit, questioning wether or not there's beauty or any manner of vitality in the web
There is not only an absence of logic here but an absence of humanity. It is...
